Bertie and Clinton Mutual Insurance Company, established in 1880, is a policyholder owned Company, providing personal, agricultural, commercial and automobile insurance through dedicated agents, in the Niagara Region.

In 1880 the Bertie and Willoughby Mutual was formed by a group of farmers who were unable to purchase insurance at a reasonable cost and therefore got together to form their own insurance company. In 1898 the Clinton Mutual was formed under similar circumstances. These two companies operated independently until 1970 when they amalgamated and Bertie and Clinton Mutual was formed.

We are a member of the Ontario Mutual Insurance Association (OMIA) which has a long history of serving the farm mutuals in Ontario.

Bertie and Clinton has paid out claims for many of its members but we are also protected by our reinsurer the Farm Mutual Reinsurance Plan Inc. (FMRP) of which we are part owners. In the event of an unusually large claim or a catastrophe we may need help from the FMRP.

Location: Travelling to client sites within the Niagara Region

Job Skills & Requirements:

Applicants with a minimum of five years of experience in the above line of business is preferred but not necessary. If you have recently received your Agents License, we will consider training a new Agent.

The primary requirements are:

- Current Agents License

- Drivers License

- Own Transportation

- The willingness to learn

- Able to manage your time well

- Possess strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
